Our Purpose

WHAT

The Association of Trauma Informed Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ATICP) is a group of UK counsellors, psychotherapists, hypnotherapists and other helping professionals who reject the un-evidenced medical model of “mental disorder” — and promote a psychosocial understanding of human distress as a response to adverse experiences.

HOW

Our register aims to provide a single place where the public can check that a qualified therapist on an accredited register will work in a non-pathologising way.

Our Services

What We Do

Our primary goal at the current time is to establish the register and issue badges. Our secondary mission is to campaign for increased awareness of the trauma informed approach.

Today, the chief benefits of joining are our directory listing and the ability to display the ATICP “Trauma Informed” badge and membership of our private Discord group.

As we grow we may add additional benefits to members. As these benefits are added our pricing structure may change.
